An oasis just 30 minutes from San Francisco.
Relax in the Chaise Lounges with the 11-foot tilting umbrella providing shade. There is usually a light breeze blowing off the bay. The private pool is 100% yours. Take a nap on one of the pool floats as it lazily drifts around the pool. Absolutely nothing better on a hot day!
Feel free to move the Chaise Lounges around.
Some important notes about the pool:
The pool is unheated and is about 70 degrees from June to end of September. It is bracing at first, but then so refreshing and wonderful.
The pool has a very small shallow end. It quickly gets to 6 feet deep and stretches to about 12 feet deep.
There is no safety fence for children or pets. This is why we do not allow children at Sunset Cottage. Do not leave your pet unattended in the back yard as they could fall into the pool, be unable to get out and drown.
The pool light does not work, so if you swim after dark (about 8:30p), it will be dark.
The pool is an outdoor pool which means that leaves, dust, pollen and the unfortunate bug or two fall in throughout the day. We’ll come every morning to skim the pool and run the cleaner. We’ll also leave the skimmer out for you should you feel you need it.
We have a person come to perform pool maintenance on Wednesday between 8am - 11am.
Obviously there is no lifeguard and you swim at your own risk. There is a life preserver attached to the pump house.
Using the Umbrella
The umbrella requires some instructions to use. Please close the umbrella before you retire for the night as the wind picks up and can damage it if it remains open.
To open the umbrella - the umbrella pole has holes that the umbrella pin fits into to stabilize it when open.
To open:
Be sure to close the umbrella when you are finished using it. Leaving it open over night can damage it due to high winds that can happen.
